10 Best Beaches in Ksamil

Ksamil BeachKsamil, Albania best beach

Ksamil Beach (Plazhi Ksamilit) is the main beach in town and among the most popular with locals and tourists alike. Here, you can find the most amenities, the most crowds, and the biggest selection of seaside dining options.

All of the sunbeds are owned by the neighboring restaurants and the prices vary depending on which one you select. Some that are priced closer to the shoreline are more expensive than those in the back, for example.

Augusto Beach

Augusto Beach in Ksamil is an excellent choice for those who don’t want to hear loud, thumping bass from the local restaurants or the piercing shrieks of hundreds of small children. While, undoubtedly, you will run into some families here, Augusto Beach is one of the most laid-back beaches in Ksamil.

That being said, it also lacks many of the common amenities that you find at some of the town’s more popular beaches, like a large selection of restaurants. Packing up some waters, beers, and snacks from a local market or bakery is a great option if you want to take advantage of the smaller crowds.

One other thing worth noting about Augusto Beach is that it is not quite as sandy as some of the other best beaches in Ksamil, which means you may want to invest in some water shoes to avoid any unpleasant cuts on your feet.

Paradise Beach

Paradise Beach is among the most popular beaches in Ksamil, noted among Instagrammers and influencers alike for its picturesque jetty that juts out into the sparkling, turquoise waters. With its surge in popularity, you can bet there are a number of crowds to contend with in the midst of the high season.

Definitely head to Paradise Beach around 8:00 AM in order to secure yourself a prime spot in the sand.

Ksamil Beach 9

Ksamil Beach 9 in Ksamil, Albania

Ksamil Beach 9 is beautiful! It’s a great spot for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Located in Ksamil, Albania, Ksamil Beach 9 boasts crystal-clear waters and stunning whitewashed sands – perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or just soaking up the sun. After you’ve had your fill of fun in the water, you can explore the nearby restaurants and shops, or grab a drink at one of Ksamil Beach 9’s beach bars. There’s something for everyone here – come join in on the fun!

Rilinda Beach

Rilinda Beach is one of the nicest beaches in Ksamil for both the quality of the chaise lounges, the surrounding restaurants, and the fact that it’s slightly less crowded than Ksamil Beach.

If you want to splurge on a beach bed with a private mermaid net, you can find them in front of Abiori Restaurant. The total cost for a beach bed for the day was 100 euros.

The only downside to this (aside from the exorbitant price) is that there are many people trying to get into your net to take photos!

You can find these mermaid nets at other beaches (the other beach we found them at was Puerto Rico Beach, below), but the water is the clearest and cleanest at Rilinda Beach. At least, it was when we visited.

Abiori Restaurant, who rents out the beach chairs on the beach in front of the restaurant, is delicious! The staff is very friendly, they offer a selection of fresh fish – you can pick out your fish from a display case showing the daily catches – and the drinks are affordable. I had the calamari there twice and was not disappointed. This says a lot considering I came from Rhode Island, where our state official appetizer is calamari!

Puerto Rican Beach

Woman reading in sun hat on net over turquoise water in Ksamil, Albania.

We wound up at Puerto Rico Beach after espying the mermaid nets across the bay from Ksamil Beach 9 one day. I really wanted another beach bed / mermaid net day, but didn’t want to shell out as much cash as we did at Rilinda Beach, so we decided to go check out their prices. I was blown away that the cost was so much cheaper – 40 euros compared to 100 euros at Rilinda!

That being said, the location is not as nice. The water had some litter and debris floating in it – candy wrappers, trash, etc. There is also a boat dock right next to the beach beds, so there is a lot of commotion going on with people getting on and off the boats.

The beach itself is relatively quiet in comparison to some of the beaches further north in Ksamil. There are still plenty of children laughing, screaming and jumping in the water off the docks, but that only comes with the territory!

There is only one restaurant nearby, which was decent enough, though not the same caliber as Abiori or the other restaurants to the north.

Isole Gemelle in Ksamil

Umbrellas on volcanic island in Ksamil, Albania.

If you happen to venture out to the largest of the Ksamil islands to enjoy this secluded beach, you should be sure to go early! The beach itself is very small, so if you want to secure a prime spot in the sand, you’ll need to leave in the morning. We left on a boat around 11:00 AM and there were only 2 – 3 spots left.

It should be noted that there are only about 10 beach chairs here, but plenty of umbrellas available to rent if you want to put your towels down below.

The island is rocky and composed of jagged, volcanic soil, so even if you’re putting your towel down, you’ll want to get there early to get a soft spot. Ours was anything but comfortable!

There’s a small shack on the island that serves water and beer, and a toilet you can hike to. Well, it’s more of an outhouse, but it does the trick.

Expect to be very close to your neighbors at this beach, as it fills up quickly and is the smallest of all the Ksamil beaches we visited.

Lori Beach

Lori Beach in Ksamil is known for being the place for families to go. Similar to the other best beaches in Ksamil, it’s made up of a combination of white sand and small pebbles. Little ones should definitely wear beach shoes on all Ksamil beaches, as you never know when you’ll come upon a rocky area.

As with the other popular beaches in Ksamil, Lori Beach gets obscenely crowded during the high season. Some have complained that it’s difficult to see the sand between all the people and sun chairs.

However, regardless of the month that you’re traveling to Ksamil, Lori Beach will be your best option if you’re traveling with children. The water is calm and shallow, perfect for safe swimming for children.

Bora Bora Beach

Ksamil Bora Bora Beach is a dreamy paradise located in the Mediterranean. If you’re looking for a cheerful, sun-kissed adventure, Ksamil is the perfect place! With its miles of golden sand and sparkling blue water, Ksamil will give you a beach day you’ll never forget. After working on your tan all day, grab an al fresco dinner at one of Ksamil’s local restaurants for some fresh seafood and incredible views.

Ksamil Beach 7

Ksamil Beach 7 is an incredible experience for any beach-goer! Things To Know About Visiting Ksamil Beaches

Umbrellas

As adorable and charming as they are, the straw umbrellas do not fold down. If you’re looking to get a tan and maximize soaking up the sun, opt for a beach chair that comes with a fabric umbrella instead. In this way, you can raise or lower the umbrella according to the location of the sun and how much exposure you want.

Traveling to Ksamil with my husband was a bit of a pain in the ass, as I wanted to read and he wanted to tan – so we always had to find the chairs that offered maximum sun exposure!

Snacks

Need something to munch on? Locals are often weaving their way through the sun beds with fresh fruits or sweet treats that resemble profiteroles smothered in chocolate sauce. Not an ideal beach snack, in my opinion, but if you’re craving something sweet, it’s an option!

There are restaurants separating the sand from the road in most cases, so you’ll never go hungry at Ksamil beaches.

Best Time to Visit Ksamil Beaches

Visiting the Ksamil beaches of Albania is an experience you won’t soon forget! Due to the mild Mediterranean climate, these waters are perfect for a summer escape. The best time to visit starts in May when the temperatures are more moderate and the beaches fill with excitement. With crystal-clear turquoise waters, chill-out bars along the beachfront, and plenty of sunbathing spots, there’s something for everyone here! July and August tend to be peak tourist months but there will never be a shortage of party vibes no matter when you choose to come. Soaking up some rays in Ksamil during the summer will be an unforgettable experience that you don’t want to miss!

Guvat

The best place to eat in Ksamil, hands down. We went there a number of times because of how good the food is – not to mention, Guvat offers up the most spectacular sunset views in Ksamil.

Abiori

Great lunch spot if you’re relaxing at Rilinda Beach. The servers are extremely attentive without being pushy.

Recommendations: Chicken soup, calamari

Veliaj Traditional Grill & Pizza

This is a bit off-the-beaten-path, but it was en route from our VRBO, so we went there a lot. It’s
